Start of path to Ramnfloget. |
Drive to the intersection of roads 659 and 661 by Eidet (Tennfjord). Turn right towards Vatne, and continue 300 metres to the exit for "Ravn stadion". Turn right here and find parking at the car park next to the football stadium.
Start walking by walking around the west end (to your right when facing the pitch) of the football stadium. When you get to the far corner continue a little in the same direction (south), through some light bush. You will soon be on a gravel road. Turn right and follow this gravel road approximately 50 metres, and you will see a sign for "Ramnfloget" to your left. Follow this path through the forest, up to the telecomm installation, and then continue east towards the summit. Just below the summit you will find a post-box with a registration book. From here head up to the summit. These pages assumes the highest point of Ramnfloget to be the point located furthest to the east.
Your descent follows the ascent route.
It was many years since I had been to Ramnfloget, so when passing this mountain on my way to Åsen this fine Saturday I decided to stop for a quick hike up here on my way back from Åsen. The hike to Åsen didn't take me long, and just over an hour after passing Ramnfloget the first time this day I was back at the trail head by Ravn stadium.
Apart from the first section through the forest I kept a decent pace (the "disturbing factor" was Arnt calling me to advertise the two proper mountains he had already done this Saturday), and I soon found myself at the summit. A quick round with the camera, and then back down to the car, and a well deserved treat in the form of a cake and a Coke at the local shop.
